An internal investigation has been launched by police into whether an officer who arrested a cyclist in Windsor was heavy-handed in his approach.
The woman was arrested and handcuffed by police after she cycled the wrong way up a one-way section of St Leonard's Road on Thursday.
Chief Inspector Lee Townsend, deputy local area commander said he has initiated the probe himself as community members had registered their concern.
He is awaiting the result of the investigation and if there was any bad conduct by one of his officers.
He said: "There was a very minor road traffic incident and they were dealt with and action was taken and an arrest made.
"We are guided by the public and if it is of concern to the public we will investigate."
But Chf Insp Townsend also warned cyclists to watch their behaviour as said police get 'numerous comments' by people saying cyclists 'bang' into them.
