Friends and family of Margaret Findlay celebrated her 100th birthday on Saturday with a party at Savill Gardens in Windsor Great Park.
It was an appropriate spot. Margaret has lived in Windsor Great Park since 1943 when her horticulturist husband Thomas Hope - known as T.H. - was appointed Superintendent in charge of the gardens.
He was responsible for Savill Gardens for many years.
Margaret was a reception teacher at St Peter's School in Old Windsor and has also been an enthusiastic member and ex-president of Windsor Great Park Women's Institute since 1945.
She attended a meeting three days before her birthday.
As well as three daughters she has nine grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
