The streets of Windsor were packed on Sunday as spectators watched some of the country's fittest men and women compete in the 24th Windsor Triathlon.
Some of the country’s top triathletes talent took part, including 2012 Olympian Stuart Hayes.
The atmosphere was electric at the finish line and just a minute separated the men’s elite winner Tom Bishop (1:49:47) from Stuart in second place with a time of 1:50:47.
Tom Bishop was first out of the water after the initial swim. But he and Stuart remained neck-and-neck throughout the bike course, before Tom broke away in the run.
The Women’s Elite race was equally thrilling with Emma Pallant crossing the line in 2:09:09.
Second place was awarded to India Lee (2:10:15) who played to her strengths finishing the bike course first before eventually being chased down by Emma Pallant on the run. Emma Holt took third place in a time of 2:12:12.
More than 50 street parties are set to take place this weekend across the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead and the surrounding areas.
An independent report into a Conservative councillor has found a breach of the Royal Borough’s code of conduct in a document seen by the Advertiser.
