Work will start next spring on the building of a new retirement community in the centre of Windsor.
Robin Hughes, the chief executive of Retirement and Care Village Properties, revealed this week that his company had found the partner it needed to run its planned £16million Castle View care village which should open in 2015.
The ' village' will consist of a care home with 72 bedrooms plus 58 one, two and three bedroom apartments in Helston Lane, off Maidenhead Road. It will be run by the company Care UK which already runs homes in Ascot, Slough and Maidenhead.
The squash club currently on the site will be allowed to stay until development of the care home starts, giving it time to find alternative premises.
Two charities currently based on the site - Red Cross and Mencap - have been incorporated into the development plan so they can stay.
