The report is due to be presented to next Thursday's meeting of the Royal Borough's cabinet. It will show the school has cut its deficit to £541,000 - a reduction of £113,000 more than the aimed for £654,000.
Cllr Phill Bicknell, cabinet member for children’s services, said: “The school has shown great determination to get its finances back on track. It has adopted strong action, reducing the costs of the senior management team and taken advantage of all opportunities including those created by people moving on - achieving more for less money.”
A recent Ofsted report said the school needed improving which came as a blow after previous 'outstanding' ratings.
David Simpson, chairman of governors, said: “The school is pleased to report this reduction in its debt and the progress made towards restoring educational standards as well."
