A suspect already charged with rape has now been accused of possessing a grenade.
Sean Hemans, of Dedworth, now faces one count of possessing an explosive substance and one of inducing another to believe an explosion is likely.
It is claimed the offences happened earlier this year.
The 35-year-old has been remanded in custody and will stand trial on all four charges at Reading Crown Court on August 12.
