The initiative was launched on Friday by Royal Borough community wardens who are running it in conjunction with Old Windsor Parish Council.
They planted flags at different spots to highlight where dogs mess was left at the village's recreation ground in Robin Willis Way.
Wardens also handed out literature and dog poo bags to dog walkers.
They can also issue penalty notices of £52.
