Signposts in the town centre will be updated as part of Windsor's 'wayfinding' project.
The current signs are poorly maintained and the Royal Borough is exploring new ways to make the system more interactive for visitors.
Top of its list will be signposts for parking, which have been criticised for a lack of information regarding available spaces.
Cllr Eileen Quick, cabinet member of the Windsor public realm and improvements programme, said: "Some signs just say open or full but they don't give you accurate numbers of the spaces available in them, which they should.
"The signage is already there, but they need to be updated as people need to know where the spaces are."
