A team of four golfers have raised more than £1,000 to help cancer victims by playing 72 holes of golf in one exhausting 17 hour day
The four all work at the Macdonald Windsor Hotel in High Street. They were night manager Greg Brown, assistant restaurant manager Rob Borley, financial controller Stephen Johns and head chef Gareth Long.
They played some 350 shots each and walked over 25 miles, starting at first light around 4.30am and finishing just after 9:30pm at Donnington Grove Hotel and Country Club, near Newbury,
Greg has had family and friends recently affected by cancer. The money raised by his team will go to Macmillan Cancer Support which provides nurses who visit sufferers' homes.
He said: “Macmillan does a fantastic job and we were proud to be able to help raise some much needed funds for them.
