Firefighters from Windsor and Slough and the air ambulance went to the scene shortly before 1pm when the crash happened on the southbound carriageway.
One engine from Windsor and two from Slough attended and hydraulic cutting gear had to be used to release a woman from the wreckage of one of the vehicles.
Firefighters finally left at 2.10pm.
The road was still closed at 3pm this afternoon.
