The 5,000 runners will set off as usual at 1pm from the Long Walk outside Windsor Castle, ready to cover the two laps around the undulating grounds of the Great Park. The start and finish of the tace will offer runners the inspirational view of the Long Walk as it sweeps down to the castle.
The event was initially started way back in 1982. It raises funds for the Prince Philip Trust and the homeless charity CRASH.
But for the first time this year it has been opened up to let competitors raise funds for good causes of their choice.
There is something else new this year. For the first time there will be a competitive edge to the 'fun run' that has always taken place alongside the main event.
It will be called the Glynn Shefford Memorial Run to commemorate the death of the man whose involvement with the half marathon goes back to its beginnings - with awards for young competitors in the U13, U15 and U17 groups.
