Cllr Andrew Jenner will make history by being the first Royal Borough mayor to actually swim in the Windsor Lions' annual fundraising event when it takes place on Sunday, October 14 at the Leisure Centre in Stovell Road.
The event has raised £100,000 for good causes over the last 16 years, as assorted teams swam for their favourite charity while Royal Borough mayors cheered from the poolside.
But Cllr Jenner will be taking the plunge himself, heading his own team.
The formula will be the usual one with each team swimming for 55 minutes as individual members take turns to cover laps.
