An Arctic Star has been awarded to Windsor veteran Ben Barnes at a ceremony at Victoria Barracks.
The 91-year-old was given the medal by Windsor MP Adam Afriyie, surrounded by family, friends, and representatives of the Royal Navy and the Army.
The event, which took place on Friday, October 11, was hosted by the 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards, who offered to host and organise it so it could be close Mr Barnes' Clewer Green home.
The Arctic Star honours those who manned the Arctic convoys to Russia during the Second World War.
Mr Barnes was also given a limited edition book, The Royal Navy Day by Day, a plaque with the Badge of the Coldstream Guards, and was treated to lunch in the officers' mess.
