A former pupil of The Windsor Boys' School is flying high after graduating from a prestigious military academy.
Mark Wecki graduated with a distinction as a flying officer from the Royal Air Force College Cranwell in Lincolnshire.
The 28-year-old was also presented with the Hennessy Trophy and Philip Sassoon Memorial Prize for being one of the best all-round cadets, and the Warrant Officer Bill Torrance Trophy, for excelling during physical education sessions.
Mark, from Maidenhead, attended the school in Maidenhead Road before graduating from Loughborough University with a degree in sport and leisure management.
He joined the RAF in 2010, serving as a weapons systems operator, and will now begin his professional training with the logistics branch.
Mark said: "Initial officer training is a tough, long course but ever since I joined the RAF I always aimed for a commission.
"The support from my family has been greatly appreciated and made me see how important it is, especially when I go on operations."
