Public health spending in Maidenhead and Windsor is 'wholly inadequate' according to the British Medical Association (BMA).
Spending averages £49 per head across England but the amount in the Royal Borough is the second lowest in the country at £22 per head.
The BMA has called on the Government to increase its investment in public health to ensure it is on a level playing field across the country.
Dr Stephen Watkins from the BMA’s public health medicine committee said: "Additional investment is required to deliver Government aspirations to improve health and to improve the health of the poorest fastest."
