Between 8.30pm on Tuesday and 9am on Wednesday, burglars gained entry to the school in Wood Close by using a ladder and forcing a window open with a tool.
Once inside the property, they carried out a search and found the keys to the safe, opened it and took a large quantity of cash and cheques.
PC Richard Probyn-Probert, from Windsor police station, said: "The ladder is an old style and made of wood. It doesn't belong to the school and the owner is probably unaware that it has been stolen."
Anyone with information can contact PC Probyn-Probert on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
