Paul Eliades, 47, of the Rydings, Windsor, was found guilty in September of owning a dog, Bruno, and allowing it to be dangerously out of control and cause injury outside Tesco in Dedworth Road in April.
His friend Marvin Cook, 45, of Greenacre, Dedworth, admitted to being in charge of a dog and allowing it to be dangerously out of control and causing injury.
Both were due to appear at Reading Magistrates' Court for sentencing on Thursday, October 24, but the case was pushed back.
