Christmas Light switch-on to begin tomorrow
One of this year's new set of Christmas lights
The lights are going on this weekend in Windsor - while surrounding towns and villages will be following suit soon after.

The cast of this year's pantomime at Windsor's Theatre Royal - including Rosemary Shrager and Basil Brush - will join the Mayor of Windsor and Maidenhead, Cllr Andrew Jenner turning on the lights at Castle Hill at 5.30pm tomorrow, following entertainment by the St George's Chapel Choir and other community groups from 5pm.

Windsor boasts some spectacular new 3-D features in this year's decorations.

The big switch on in Eton happens on Thursday at 7pm. Father Christmas and some real reindeer will do the honours, following carols in the chapel at Eton College at 6pm and a procession to Jubilee Square. There will be hot food and a drinks stall. Tickets for the college event are £2, available from shops in the High Street.

A carol service will be held on Datchet Village Green on Saturday, December 7 before the lights go on - the event will run from 5pm to 7pm.

The usual big lights switch on will not be happening in Sunningdale this year for the first time in 10 years. But on Friday, November 29 traders will be staying open late and the lights will be turned on informally at 5.30pm in the Jubilee Clock area.
