The annual attendance at the Royal Windsor Racecourse has risen by almost 30 per cent in 2013.

Figures released by The Racecourse Association (RCA) on Tuesday revealed that attendances across British racecourses rose in 2013 to 5,679,941 with a 109,700 rise at Royal Windsor.

This equates to a 29.6 per cent increase at the Maidenhead Road venue.

Stuart Dorn, newly appointed executive director at Royal Windsor said: "We're pleased to see the increase in racegoers coming along to enjoy a fantastic night at the races.

"It shows the enormous support the racecourse receives and what a great venue it is for an evening out. We are working hard to get ready for the 2014 season and can't wait to welcome every one back."

Royal Windsor opens its gates for racing on April 7 for the first fixture of the season with Monday Night racing commencing on April 28, featuring Chas & Dave live.
