A 23-year-old man was taken to hospital after being hit by a pint glass in Windsor.
At about 4.20am today the victim was walking along Oxford Road East past Pizza Palace and was outside Pink Gentlemen's Club when he was involved in an altercation with another man.
The man threw a pint glass at him, causing a deep head wound, and walked away with another man in the direction of Charles Street.
It is believed he may then have got into a grey taxi.
The victim, who is from Windsor, was treated at the scene by paramedics and was then taken to Wexham Park Hospital for further treatment.
The attacker is described as white, in his mid-20s, 5ft11ins tall, of medium build with short, dark hair.
He was wearing a long-sleeved blue checked shirt and a grey hooded top.
Part of Oxford Road East was cordoned off by police this morning but was reopened by noon.
Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses or anyone who recognises the description of the attacker to contact 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
