The owner of a flat in central Windsor returned to find a burglar in their home who claimed he was at the wrong address.
Returning to the flat in Bowes Lyon Close, in Ward Royal, at 9.25am on Friday, the homeowner found a man inside the property who immediately left on a bicycle.
A Compaq laptop and cable lead had been stolen.
It was established that the thief got into the block of flats by pressing the tradesmen's button and the flat door was left unlocked.
The thief was described as a black man, five feet 10 inches tall, of a medium to stocky build, clean shaven and spoke with a local accent. He was wearing a distinctive red fleece jacket.
