The future of an Edwardian house in Osborne Road, Windsor is in the air again.
Essex Lodge was saved from being demolished and replaced with 14 apartments after a Government inspector upheld the Royal Borough's refusal to allow the plan, on the grounds that it was out of keeping with the area.
The house is only yards from the conservation area boundary.
Now the building has been put up for sale by Berkeley Homes.
Chairman of the Boltons Residents' Association Claire Milne said: "Many residents would like to see the building retained or at the very least a new building designed to fit the scene in style and scale."
More than 50 street parties are set to take place this weekend across the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead and the surrounding areas.
An independent report into a Conservative councillor has found a breach of the Royal Borough’s code of conduct in a document seen by the Advertiser.
