Veteran scout leaders David Shaw and Eunice Stone received a heart-warming accolade on Friday, June 13.
The pair received their St George's Day award, the Silver Acorn, presented to them at scout headquarters in Maidenhead Road, Windsor by county commissioner Hamish Stout.
Mr Shaw, who was made MBE in the Queen's birthday honours list, referred to one of the local scouting movement's biggest recent achievements.
He said: "The recent building of the New Dyson Hut at Bears Rails campsite headed brilliantly by Eunice Stone clearly showed us the important of working together with local organisations. It lead to the raising of £140,000 and the completion of a very difficult project after many years of trying."
Harry Elliott, 10 also received his Silver Chief Scout's Award at the meeting.
