Work is due to start next spring on a new retirement village in the centre of Windsor.
Chief executive of Castle Retirement Living, Robin Hughes, confirmed this week the £30million 130-home project on Helston Lane, off Maidenhead Road, should be completed within 20 months of starting.
It will be run by Care UK, consisting of 50 one, two and three-bedroom apartments ready for occupation by summer 2016, and a 72-bed care home.
Two charities currently based on the site, the Red Cross and Mencap, have been incorporated into the plan.
But the Windsor Club on the site with its gym and squash facilities still needs to find a new home - as well as the nursery and car wash.
Mr Hughes said: "They are nice businesses and I'm hoping someone will come forward to offer them a venue."
