It is not every day that Band of the Lifeguards come to school.
But pupils at St John's Beaumont Preparatory School had a real treat on Thursday when the talented bandsmen from the Household Cavalry mounted regiment at Combermere Barracks visited them at their premises in Priest Hill, Old Windsor.
The bandsmen spent an entire afternoon at the school, rehearsing with the boys and guest students from Windsor Boys and St Ignatius School, Enfield ready for a gala concert that evening in which they were to play together.
There was also time for tea and a chat with the boys about daily life in the regiment.
