A vandal has caused £10,000 worth of damage by pouring a chemical - possibly paint stripper - on nine high value cars in a garage forecourt.
The attack happened on Wednesday evening at car dealers Charles of Windsor in Straight Road in Old Windsor.
Manager Peter Campbell said that a mechanic had been working inside when the attack happened. He discovered it when he went outside, enabling the time of the crime to be pinpointed to between 7pm and 8pm.
Mr Campbell said: "The motive for the attack is beyond my comprehension. Whatever was used worked quickly. It may have been paint stripper of some sort.
"The cars attacked were BMWs and Mercedes. They are not destroyed but bonnets and wings will have to be removed and repainted.
"To make it worse - a car was stolen as well overnight."
Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the attack or seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area to ring the police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
