Windsor's neighbourhood police Inspector Pete Dalton is in New York City where hurricane Sandy has killed 10 people.
USA President Barack Obama declared today that the city and Long Island was experiencing a major disaster. There are reports that 33 people have died in total in America and Canada. There are over 15,000 flights across the globe grounded due to the storm.
Windsor Inspector Pete Dalton said on Twitter: "Chaos unfolding in Manhattan."
He shared a photo of a crane and said: "In NYC seeing history first-hand, fallen crane that you are seeing on news."
He later posted another photo and said: "NYPD and NYFD respond to falling crane, emergency service vehicles out in force."
