A new community hub in Old Windsor has received a cash boost after The Co-operative Group put £250 towards its launch event.
Old Windsor Parish Council has been given the grant for the Old Windsor Jubilee Hub, which has been built at a former derelict toilet block in St Luke's Road.
The cash will be used to book the Waltham St Lawrence Silver Band to play Christmas carols on Sunday, December 16, when the facility is launched.
The Co-operative Food store in St Luke’s Road will provide refreshments for volunteers at the launch, with members of staff also lending a hand to marshal the event.
Among the free services at the hub will be a computer suite, a community police post and an information centre.
Jane Dawson, chairman of the parish council, thanked the store for their 'generous' donation and said the launch will now have a 'superb soundtrack'.
