A Windsor author said she is 'delighted' that her debut novel has been shortlisted for the National Book Awards.
Essie Fox, of Claremont Road, Windsor, is in the running for the New Writer of the Year category.
Her debut book The Somnambulist, a Victorian Gothic mystery set in East London, was released this year, and is followed by Essie's second novel Elijah's Mermaid.
The awards will be presented at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, London, on December 4.
