A cycle ride round Windsor Great Park this weekend is the latest fundraising event to support a little girl fighting to stay on her feet.
Vivi Gregory-Osborne, seven, of York Avenue, Windsor has undergone a pioneering operation to keep her from being wheelchair bound. But it is not available locally under the NHS and her family will ultimately need to raise £50,000 to £70,000 to fund the operation and the years of physiotherapy.
Classmates of Vivi - Louis and Lily Toy - and their mum Angela, are among those who helped organise the fundraising 'Vivi's Venture' cycle ride happening in the Great Park on Sunday.
Already 70 sponsored cyclists - child and adult - are committed to completing the 2.5mile route, starting from the Savill Building in Savill Garden off Wick Lane, Englefield Green at 11am.
The Savill Garden management has offered juice and biscuits, while members of the Windsor based EVO triathlon club will marshall, as well as offering technical back-up if bikes seize up.
There is a prize for the winning child. Anyone who would still like to take part can contact firstname.lastname@example.org
