Firefighters had to be called to Marks & Spencer in Peascod Street, Windsor, today to free seven people trapped in a lift.
The group, of men and women aged between about 30 and 60, were trapped for about 10 minutes before firefighters from Windsor were called after one of the women complained of chest pains and said she suffered from claustrophobia.
A crew arrived at 2pm and managed to lower and open the lift within a couple of minutes and the woman did not require medical attention.
There were no other injuries.
More than 50 street parties are set to take place this weekend across the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead and the surrounding areas.
An independent report into a Conservative councillor has found a breach of the Royal Borough’s code of conduct in a document seen by the Advertiser.
