The medals of a war hero have been stolen in a callous burglary in Windsor.
Between Sunday, November 4 and Monday, November 19, when the victim was away from home, burglars forced open a rear door in Martin Close.
The victim's grandfather's war medals were stolen, including: Military Cross, The Nile 1882 (bar: The Nile 1884-5), 1914-15 Star, 1914-18 British War Medal, 1914-19 Victory Medal, Good Conduct & Long Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (NZ), Khedive Star and Croix de Guerre avec palm.
A safe was also taken.
Det Con Paul Morath, from Maidenhead police station, said: “I would like to hear from anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area or who has any information on the stolen items.”
