The Duchess and Duke of Cambridge are expecting their first child, officials from St James's Palace have announced.
Kate, 30, was admitted to King Edward VII Hospital in central London today with acute morning sickness.
She is expected to stay in hospital for several days, and was admitted with hyperemesis gravidarum.
The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince of Wales and members of both families were said to be delighted with the news.
The royal baby will be born third in line to the throne, after Prince Charles and Prince William.
