Trevelyan School braved the unknown last week by staging its first Christmas fair on Thursday.
Parent Teachers Association member Trudi Lane who is a supervisor at the school put it all together and in the end 20 stalls were set up.
The most successful ones will become permanant fixtures at future Christmas fairs.
Father Christmas made a welcome appearance at the groundbreaking event for the school and the only query by the end of the afternoon was 'why did not we do this years ago?'
