Paul O'Grady's Christmas special to help dogs in Old Windsor

Dogs who need rehoming will be featured on a special Christmas Day programme presented by Paul O'Grady.

The TV star and well-known dog lover is ambassador of the Battersea Dogs & Cats Home and will highlight 12 dogs in need of homes from the sites in Old Windsor, Brands Hatch and London.

Battersea Old Windsor is open for rehoming every day of the year, except for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day, but the charity is careful never to rehome pets as Christmas presents.

Paul said: "I’m being very strict about who can take one of my 12 dogs of Christmas. None of these lovely dogs are going as Christmas presents, they all deserve fantastic homes for life. With some love and attention one of these dogs could become your best friend."

Paul O’Grady: For the Love of Dogs at Christmas is on ITV on Christmas Day at 6pm.
