Police in Slough have launched a murder investigation into the death of a pensioner who was attacked earlier this week.

The victim, an 82-year-old man from Slough, died this morning after he was assaulted in Stoke Road on Tuesday (September 24).
Police had earlier advised he was in a ‘critical condition’ in hospital.
Two teenage boys from Slough, aged 15 and 16, were arrested in connection with the incident on Wednesday, on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. The pair have been released on bail.
Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the attack to contact them.
Detective Inspector Nick Hind, of the Thames Valley Police Major Crime Unit, said: “Firstly my thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends at this difficult time.
“We believe that this is an isolated incident and that there is no wider risk to the public.
“If you witnessed the incident, have information about what happened, or may have CCTV or dash-cam footage that could assist our investigation, please call 101 or make a report via the Thames Valley Police website, quoting reference 43240460762.
“Alternatively, if you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or online.”
The victim’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
Formal identification is yet to take place.
