More than 200 guests will attend the prize giving for Maidenhead and Windsor Business and Community Awards on Friday (September 22).
The ceremony, which takes place at the Castle Hotel in Windsor, sees the return of the awards for the first time since the pandemic, and new for 2023 they will also be celebrating the far-reaching achievements of the community.
Four community awards have been added to the prize roster and will honour the contribution made by individuals of all ages and backgrounds.
The awards ceremony will also recognise excellence in businesses of all sizes.
Jeremy Spooner, chief executive of Baylis Community Media, said the awards would not have been possible without the support of sponsors and is looking forward to a night of celebration.
He said: “I am delighted that, after a great deal of hard work in partnership with Lime Blue Solutions, with the support of the team at Maidenhead Chamber of Commerce, the Maidenhead and Windsor Business and Community Awards are taking place this Friday.
“It will be a special night dedicated to celebrating the best of what RBWM has to offer in terms of business excellence and community spirit.”
Guest speaker will be chief executive of the RBWM, Stephen Evans.
Prizes up for grabs in the community awards section include ‘Young Hero Award’, the ‘Community Project of the Year’ and ‘Outstanding Contribution to the Community’.
Businesses in the borough will also be celebrated in categories covering ‘Best business start-up’ as well as ‘Best Covid bounce-back’.
Gardner Leader solicitors in Maidenhead is one of the sponsors of the ‘Best Company to Work For’ award.
Fiona Curnow, Gardner Leader’s client experience director previously told the Advertiser: “The awards are a celebration and recognition of how much hard work there is around us, and how much businesses contribute to community – as employers but also making Maidenhead and surrounding areas great places to live.”
The awards are the result of a partnership between Maidenhead and District Chamber of Commerce, Lime Blue Solutions and Baylis Community Media CIC. The idea behind them is to showcase the good work that happens in the RBWM.
Sponsors of the ‘Best small and medium-sized enterprise’, Wilson Partners, who won the award in 2018 previously told the Advertiser, the reason the company got involved was to ‘showcase the entrepreneurial spirit, resilience and determination that shapes the community’.
