Man in critical care following Bath Road collision

A South Central Ambulance spokesman said: "We received a 999 call at 11:08 with the caller reporting a serious collision between two cars on Bath Road, Maidenhead, which resulted in one patient being trapped in their vehicle.

"We sent an ambulance, a paramedic team leader in a rapid response vehicle, the Thames Valley Air Ambulance critical care car and the Thames Valley Air Ambulance helicopter to the scene.

"The male patient who was trapped in the vehicle was released with the help of the fire service and following treatment at the scene for multiple, life-threatening injuries was then flown to the major trauma unit at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford."


Update 17:37, November 12

A man in his fifties is in critical care following a crash on the A4 earlier today (Tuesday).

Fire crews were called at about 11.30am to Bath Road to a road collision between two cars, one of which a small sports car.

Three fire crews – from Maidenhead, Windsor and Wokingham – were on the scene to cut the man – thought to be in his late fifties - from the car. He is in critical care at hospital.

Crews were there for about an hour and a half.

Occupants in the other vehicle were uninjured.

The road has now reopened.


The A4 Bath Road is closed in both directions following a collision between two cars.

The closure is between the Thicket Roundabout and the Shire Horse Pub in Littlewick Green.

Emergency services are at the scene and traffic is being diverted through Burchetts Green.

    You should think seriously about your advertising when you have a picture of a serious accident and a man in critical condition and you overlay someone celebrating with a bottle of Sake. Extremely insensitive!
