Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross Katherine is just one of the animals being cared for by Battersea Dogs and Cats Home - which has kennels in Priest Hill, Old Windsor.
Staff have named her after legendary female rower Katherine Grainger, who secured a gold medal on Friday rowing to victory in the women’s double sculls with Anna Watkins.
Gold medal winner Katherine Copeland are also amongst the team GB rowers who have had Battersea animals named in their honour. Tabby and tortoise-shell Kat arrived at the charity when her owner became homeless.Editor's Picks
