Privacy PolicyAn application to build two new data centre buildings at Thorney Lane Business Park features in this week’s public notices.
Planning
Plans have been submitted by Amazon Data Services UK Limited propose to demolish an existing building and structures at Thorney Lane Business Park in Iver and carry out other associated site clearance works.
Following this, the application seeks permission from Buckinghamshire Council to build two data centre buildings with ancillary offices, associated plant, equipment and emergency back up generators.
The plans also include ancillary buildings and a substation.
The development would also comprise internal circulation areas, an emergency access route onto Hollow Hill Lane, cycle and car parking and hard and soft landscaping.
Other associated works and ancillary site infrastructure is also part of the proposals.
The application can be viewed by typing in the reference number: PL/25/4316/FA into Buckinghamshire Council’s planning portal.
Road closures
The Royal Borough (also acting with delegated powers granted by Slough Borough Council) is intending to temporarily close major roads in the Windsor and Eton area to facilitate bridge works.
Drivers will not be able to proceed along the entirety of the A332 Royal Windsor Way and the A332 Windsor and Eton Relief Spur, and along that part of the A335 Royal Windsor Way for its entire length.
The proposed order is to facilitate essential Elizabeth Bridge expansion joints repair works on Royal Windsor Way.
It will come into force each night between 9pm and 6am, Monday to Friday, from Monday, March 2.
The works will continue for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the repairs have been completed.
The alternative route for drivers affected by the closures is the north bound slip road from Clarence Road roundabout, A308 Maidenhead Road, A308 Windsor Road, A308 Braywick Road, A308 King Street, A308 Grenfell Road, A308 Grenfell Place, A308 Frascatti Way, A4 Bad Godesberg Way, A4 St Clouds Way, A4 Bridge Road, A4 Bath Road and A355 Tuns Lane.
Elsewhere, Slough Borough Council (SBC) is intending to make an order to temporarily close the road between 8 and 12 Alpha Street North to traffic.
The proposed order is needed for works that are or are proposed to be carried out on or near the road. If made, it will come into force at 12.01am on Tuesday, April 28.
All works are expected to be completed by 11.59pm on Thursday, April 30.
An alternative route will be available while the order is in force and there will be a local diversion sign at the location.
Advanced warning notices will also be on display at the locations advising of the dates the works will be conducted.
Access will be maintained for all businesses and local residents.
SBC is also looking to make an order to temporarily stop traffic from passing through Liverpool Road, from its junction with Buckingham Avenue to its junction with Edinburgh Avenue.
The proposed order is needed due to works that are or are proposed on or near the road.
If made, it will come into operation at 12.01am on Monday, April 20, with all works expected to be completed by 11.59pm on Sunday, May 10.
An alternative route will be available, with a local diversion sign at the location.
