SPONSORED: Local organisations can now apply for funds from Two Rivers' 'EcoPot'

As part of Two Rivers' ongoing eco initiatives – #EcoCommunityStaines – the Staines-Upon-Thames shopping centre has now opened applications for local businesses to apply for funds from its ‘EcoPot’.

Local organisations, schools and businesses may struggle to become environmentally-friendly due to cost issues, therefore Two Rivers is donating all funds from the centre’s ‘EcoPot’ to help the wider Staines-Upon-Thames community become more sustainable.

Applications for monies from Two Rivers' 'EcoPot' have now been opened, seeing the shopping centre commit to making a change at a local level, with the aim to build a better world for everyone.

Applicants will be chosen by a panel from Two Rivers and applications will remain open until all funds are distributed.

If you’re a local school requiring more recycling bins or perhaps your scout hut would benefit from modifications to make it more energy efficient then get in touch with Two Rivers!

Two Rivers revealed its brand new eco logo on a number of eco-friendly products at the centre's recent bag swap event.

Shoppers could be seen returning 10 plastic bags to receive Two Rivers' cotton ‘Bag for Life’.

The centre was also selling its eco branded reusable cups for £1 and its ‘Bag of Life’ for £2, seeing all funds donated back into the ‘EcoPot’.

Alongside selling eco-friendly products, Two Rivers has created their very own Christmas Card JustGiving page.

Instead of sending Christmas cards, Two Rivers is asking shoppers to donate money saved to supporting the ‘EcoPot’ and therefore local groups and charities within the area.

The centre has also donated funds from its ‘Breakfast with Santa’ into the ‘EcoPot’.

Joanna Hall, centre manager of Two Rivers Shopping Centre said: “We’re delighted to announce applications for funds from our EcoPot are now open! It’s important that we all strive towards being as eco-friendly as possible and ultimately money raised from our own eco initiatives here at Two Rivers will in-return help local schools, businesses and organisations and therefore the Staines’s community become more sustainable.”
