Clare Hollingworth and the Scoop of The Century

From the busy newspaper offices in London to the frontline during World War II, discover the remarkable true story of one of the most important writers of our time.

This globe-trotting and playful family show embarks on a life story which has been forgotten for years.

It celebrates the work of a pioneer who changed the mould of journalism, Clare Hollingworth. She was the first journalist to report on the outbreak of WW2 – the ‘scoop of the century’.

Clare’s life, her character and profession inspired PaddleBoat to create a performance to share her legacy with families. The award-winning company brings its unique style to this remarkable tale of daring, intrigue and an invasion that would rock the world.

Michael Smith, one of the founding members of the company, was born in Maidenhead and as a teenager attended drama classes at Norden Farm.

Go undercover in this highly interactive show bursting with storytelling, songs and the scoop of the century. Shows at 11.30am and 2pm.
