An Asian teenager was bitten in the ear during an assault in Windsor in the early hours of New Years Day.
Police said the 18-year-old was walking along a footpath between Goswell Hill and Peascod Street at 3am when he was assaulted by a group of three or four men.
They said he suffered a cut to his head and a serious bite injury to his ear, that required plastic surgery.
Detective Constable Iain Watkinson, investigating, said: "The victim is Asian and was wearing a silver jacket at the time of the attack.
"There would have been a lot of people in the area, as this was a busy New Year’s Eve, and I am appealing for anyone who may have seen what happened to come forward and assist with our enquiries."
Call Det Con Watkinson on police non-emergency number 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
