A belated present from Santa has given a much needed boost to sufferers from dementia and their carers.
The money was raised before Christmas at Squires Garden Centre in Maidenhead Road, Windsor when staff set up a fund raising Santa's grotto.
Yesterday manager Karl Robinson handed £2,335 over to David Janetta, the chairman of the charity Alzheimers Dementia Support
The charity was formed to support sufferers from the condition and their carers across the Royal Borough, Langley and Slough. There are drop in centres and lunch clubs in all four towns and home visit services are also provided.
Terrie Hall from the charity said: "Our drop in centres are marvellous for someone out shopping with a partner who may be having a difficult day. It is somewhere to go where they will be welcomed and can relax."
For full details of services contact Terrie on 07516 165647 or Christine Price on 07516 165665.
More than 50 street parties are set to take place this weekend across the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead and the surrounding areas.
An independent report into a Conservative councillor has found a breach of the Royal Borough’s code of conduct in a document seen by the Advertiser.
