Lovers of the great outdoors are being offered a unique opportunity to pitch their tent in the Queen's 'back garden' this summer.
The Crown Estate has signed an agreement with the Camping and Caravanning Club and is providing 286 pitches from July 20 to August 16, on land adjoining Queen Victoria's Review Ground off the Sheet Street Road.
Great Park deputy ranger Philip Everett said the camp site would be unique. He said: “Not only is it close to the Olympic events at Eton Dorney Lake but it is the ideal base from which to explore this fantastic area. We hope that it will help to provide an additional boost to local businesses and tourist attractions.”
Pitches will cost £40 per night, based on a minimum three-night stay. Bookings are now being taken via the club’s contact centre on 0247 6475426 or 0845 1307633. Or visit www.2012camping.co.uk
