A soldier based at Victoria Barracks in Windsor has pleaded not guilty to GBH on a 15-year-old boy.
Ashley Dacosta, denied attacking Mo Bourner in De La Warr Parade, Bexhill, Sussex, on October 29 at Hove Crown Court on Friday.
The teenager suffered severe brain damage.
The 20-year-old, who is from the Bexhill area, also pleaded not guilty to a charge of racially motivated GBH.
Dacosta is alleged to have punched the boy in the head as he walked home from a beach party on October 29.
He has been remanded in custody and will appear at the same court for trial on July 16.
Concerns have been raised after a man in Windsor was hit by human waste from an aeroplane whilst in his garden.
