A loveable wooden chap with one eye has been stolen from the school where he lives - leaving pupils broken hearted.
Eric lives at Hilltop First School in Clewer Hill Road, Windsor. The 3ft high wooden figure was made as part of a special project at the school during which pupils taught him all about Christmas.
He had become a much loved presence in front of the school, until thieves stole him on Wednesday night.
Deputy headteacher Susan Kinghorn said: "He began as a big eye on a computer. Then the company running the project presented us with a wooden carved figure unveiled at assembly.
"The children are so upset. They think he is real. We just hope whoever stole Eric will bring him back."
Anyone with information should phone police on 101.
