Cabinet members will discuss a report by the children’s services overview and scrutiny panel in a meeting at the Guildhall on Wednesday night.
Scrutiny panel members are recommending that two options are considered to manage the increasing number of school places in the Windsor area.
The first is to expand the existing three senior schools - Windsor Boys' School, Windsor Girls' School and Churchmead in Datchet.
The second is to move the Windsor system from its present three-tier structure to a controversial two-tier structure.
School pupils now transfer from first to middle schools aged nine and then again at 13 to senior schools.
