The Alexander Devine Children's Hospice Service (ADCHS) fundraising team hopes to bring in another £5,000 from sponsored runners taking part in the Windsor Half Marathon on September 28.
Its co-founder, Fiona Devine is among those taking on the 13.1-mile course.
She has been preparing for the event with trainer Steve Saunders at Windsor Leisure Centre in Stovell Road.
"It's hard work," she said.
"He's aiming for two hours 15 but I'm just aiming to get around in one piece!"
She is aiming to raise £500.
Runners who run for the charity can enjoy its hospitality tent on race day, which will look after bags, offer refreshments and provide treatment for tired legs.
Email firstname.lastname@example.org for information.
ADCHS will also have a stall at the first Windsor Night Market in Peascod Street tomorrow, where it will be the nominated charity.
