Outpatients had to be evacuated from Princess Margaret Hospital in Windsor yesterday after an air conditioning unit caught fire.
Two fire crews from Slough Fire Station and one crew from Windsor Fire Station were called to tackle the small fire at 5.10pm after the smell of burning was reported from an air conditioning unit inside the hospital in Osborne Road, Windsor.
Patients staying in the hospital were not asked to leave and - according to a spokesperson from the hospital - those who evacuated the building were allowed back in within a few minutes.
The crews left the premises at about 6.30pm.
